Their collection includes over 2.4 millions rolls of microfilmed genealogical records; 727,000 microfiche, serials, and other formats; 4,500 periodicals; and 3,725 electronic resources. The Library has 142,000 square feet on 5 floors for patron research with:
315 patron computers, 4 microfilm scanners, Table seating for 375, over 408 microfilm readers, 28 microfilm & microfiche copiers, Orientation and research classes, 36 microfiche readers, Approximately 700 trained volunteers, Wired Ethernet ports, 14 book copiers, 125 full- and part-time professional staff , Wireless Internet access. Family Research Cente is located on the entire first floor utilizing over 100 plus new computers. Get free help from Staff to help with computers, research ideas and more.
Optional Activities (no charge): Organ recitals: Mormon Tabernacle Choir rehearsal (Thursday) and live broadcast (Sunday); Youth Symphony; area museums; classes at Family History Library; tours of local historic sites, Temple Square, and Conference Center, including roof gardens, free public transportation in downtown area.
